UNEB releases UACE results today.

Uganda National Examination Board has released the 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of  Education (UACE) results at the state house in Nakasero today. The Minister of Education and Sports, First Lady Janet Museveni officially released the results with the Executive Dierector of the Uganda National Examinations Board, Dan Odongo.

According to the Executive Director, there was a sharp rise in candidates, with 141,996 students registered—a 28.4% increase from 110,566 in 2023, according to UNEB. Males made up 56.4% (80,039), while females accounted for 43.6% (61,957). The surge is linked to changes in teacher training admission, pushing more students toward UACE.

The number of exam centers also grew from 2,101 to 2,255. Candidates who sat for the exams rose to 140,888, up 28.7% from 109,486 in 2023. While males outnumbered females, female participation has steadily increased, jumping 31.5% from 46,860 in 2023 to 61,598 in 2024.

Despite being fewer, females outperformed males, with higher pass rates at upper levels and lower failure rates. This trend continues to highlight the academic strength of female candidates at UACE.
